Jaime Jesus Borlagdan, born March 6, 1979, in Tabaco City, Albay Philippines is popularly known as Jimple Borlagdan, the singer/songwriter and guitarist of Krear Bathala and Bandang Jimple Borlagdan. He is also the author of Maynila: Libro ng Pobya (Tagalog Poetry) and Que Lugar Este kan Dayo sa Sadiring Banwa (Bikol Poetry). Jimple Borlagdan -- a poet, an artist, a bicolano musician.

As a writer/poet, Jimple won the Tomas Arejola Award for Poetry and Fiction and was also named 2009 Writer of the Year for Bikol.

As Bikolano Musician, he wrote all or most of the songs for his band Krear Bathala, a band that fuses traditional Philippine colonial music with accents of old and new schools of metal and heavy rock and have a solo project for a tuneful Bandang Jimple Borlagdan. Truly it shows his versatility and creativity. "Bikolano ka, mag-Bikol ka" -- nahiling ko ini sa blogspot ni Jimple. Dae ko aram kun sya an nag-sabi kaini. pero sige lugod, ma-Bikol na ako ta nasasakitan na ako mag-English. :) Saro sa mga kanta nya na nasunoan ko, iyo an "Torog Na An Gabos..." Masakit mag-gibo nin kantang Bikol ta nagtatanog "corny" (well, at least for our band) pero ki Jimble bako ining isyu. Truly a Bikolano poet. As Bikol critic Tito Genova Valiente puts it, "The first time I read the poems of Jimple I felt immediately the seething movement of the words. There was a rush of metaphors in his works." and "This is the poet who can, without self-consciousness, tell us of the …haya/kan mga ayam na namimibi/nakakapabuskad ki barahibo/nakakaulakit ki lungsi. He whispers of “halas na rimuranon, malamti/sa hapiyap kan mga bituon.” This is a startling universe, where dogs pray (and bay) , and where fears bloom and paleness afflicts and infects, and serpents are caressed by the stars."

Jimple is the secretary of the cultural group An Banwa: Kultura buda Artes kan Tabaco Inc., and founder and facilitator of TAWO: Tabaco Writers' Workshop. He manages and maintains the on-line Bikol literary folio Karangahan (http://karangahanonline.blogspot.com/), and is a staunch advocate of re-establishing the Bikol language as a standard language in Bicolandia. He lives in Tabaco City with wife Caren and daughter Radhana Govinda.
