PROJECT: 2010 - The Rise of the Bicol Music Scene

I. INTRODUCTION and OBJECTIVE
We would like to inform you that we have a proposed project for the Bicolano musician community. The project should provide Bicolano musicians of different genres; a chance to perform at different events and venues in the Metro Manila area. The aim of this project is to create a stable music scene composed of Bicolano artists and other artists in the Philippines. This will create exposure to the independent/mainstream music industry, and a chance for our brothers to live their passion for music at a much more wider audience.
II. DETAILS OF THE PROJECT
1) Bands will have slots at Events/Productions in the Metro Manila Area.
2) There will be (1) or (2) two Band Productions every month.
3) Proposed Venues: (venues will be finalized soon)
a)Magnet Café
b)RJ Makati
c)6 Underground
d)Café de Saguijo
e)9Mile Bar
f)Capones
g)Club Dredd
h)Others.. (depends on set budget every month)
i) The production will be set to one (1) or two (2) Saturdays every month.
4) The musicians/bands will have a membership fee every month keep the project running.
a) A big set of TRUST is needed in this project
b) Initial members will start from twenty (20) bands / musicians
c) P500.00 per band should be given to the project every month to make the
productions possible.
d) Like I said, this is not about money, so we only need P500.00 per band and a big
TRUST to the organizers.
to make this clear.. P500.00 is per band, not per person,, so let's say the band has 5 members, divide mo.. so P100.00 lang sila each member..., di naman sya mabigat. right? what's P100.00 a month, may free beers ka na rin sa event... and you can play your music pa in reputable venues and events...
e) The bands will be divided depending on the availability of everyone.
f) The bands will have a chance to perform at least once or twice every month.
g) There's no need to be selfish here, even we contribute P500.00 a month, It
doesn’t mean you are paying the organizers for their services. We need to have
TRUST and LOYALTY and understanding of the whole project. All the bands are
equal, so NO special treatment is needed.
h) If bands are not available to play at the set venue, the P500.00 is not refundable.
The P500.00 fee is not an assurance to play but it will be considered as your
contribution to the project.
i) The twenty (20) artists will be booked once or twice every month.
III. MAKE THIS POSSIBLE
5) 20 bands X P500.00 = P10,000.00
a) All of the members should formalize this and will assign officers and a person to
handle the finances.
b) All the existing Bicolano Productions will participate in this project.
c) With shared resources from the officers and organizers. This project will be
successful.
d) P5,000 is enough to set one production in a small venue. (Example: Cuerdas Bar,
Magnet, 6UG)
e) P10,000 is enough to set one production in mid-sized venue.
f) If we can find sponsors , P20,000 is enough to set a big venue.
*the money can be used as payment for the venue, drinks for the bands and additional funds for the next event...
g) It's up to the trusted officers to set gigs depending on the budget per month.
h) The Organizers will set the productions monthly, and will set the gigs initially for three months..
i) Events are sent to the artists quarterly. (a month before)
j) The entrance fees in the venues should be transparent to all the members of the
project. This will be used as additional funds for the next event.
IV. OFFICERS AND ORGANIZERS
6) Assigned officers should be responsible to make this project happen.
a) Meeting will be set to organize the whole structure of the project.
b) We need your support in this project, seriously.
V. LETS NOT GET LAZY AND DO THIS. IF WE WANT A SOLID SCENE, WE HAVE TO WORK FOR IT AS A GROUP.
7) This is a fun and difficult way to emerge the BICOL scene.
8) But if we really want to have a solid structure, we need to work hard for it.
9) This project can prove that as brothers in the Bicolano music industry, we can all work as a
group and be successful.
